I purchased this iPad after going to the store to find a new laptop whilst I’m between jobs, however once there didn’t really like any of the cheaper/mid range laptops and saw the shiny lilac iPad which caught my eye instead.
I’ve never actually purchased an iPad as I had no need for it, but I thought let’s have a play around could this maybe work instead of buying a whole new laptop that I’ll only use for work for a couple of months and then mostly for streaming in the bathtub.
The store owner let me play on the device in test mode so I could see if it would be too fiddly for documents but using everything on Google drive makes it super easy to do. And everything from my iPhone is just there and easy too.
It’s lightweight, fast and good for quality streaming.
I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for working on job applications/documents.
Can’t wait to use it on holiday travels as it’s much more contact than a laptop too!

So far in about 4 weeks find the iPad AIr has an impressive speed when playing around with it. I have not had an Apple device before. My android tablet was also very responsive, but not up to the M2 processor. 2GHZ compared to 3.5GHZ with iPad Air. Got fed up with the annoying ads etc. appearing frequently from Google since the last software upgrade. Safari was too basic a browser, so switched to my Microsoft Edge account. Although still only has its limits on the iPad, I was able to easily import my favourites.
Need to spend more time with File manager. Don't find the one installed very friendly. Have since added another from the App store. Yet to set things up in it. Also using the WPS Office Suite. Had used this Office Software before, but not as it is on iPad. So yes I find Apple has it's quirks, but hopefully with time it will less apparent.

This new IPad Air is definitely a top tier tablet. With this new enlarged screen and powerful chip, I am basically using this as a computer. Although yeah IPad OS is not the most friendly OS for using it as an actual computer, Apple has so many apps that can act as an alternative for you to stay productive and not feel blocked- at least for what I use this for.

Battery life is crazy good. It can last for multiple days for normal browsing. I played a round of wild rift and from a full battery only 8% was used. My surface pro 9 could never. LOL.

Durability. Well I went from the very first iPad Pro to this. I think Apple has proven that they build their products to last. I never renewed yearly even if they release a new model, cus no need.

Display on this is good. kinda sucks it’s only 60 FPS max on IPAD Air but that never bothers me.

I was a little apprehensive in setting the new iPad up and was intending asking my granddaughter for help but after viewing videos on YouTube managed the transfer from old to new without any problem. As expected 7 years on from my old iPad Apple have made a few refinements, larger screen, faster response times, longer battery life and shorter charging time to name but a few of the basics. A more sensitive Touch ID makes access quick and easy and movement between apps again is easily done. I'm unlikely to avail myself of all that this new iPad offers but am nevertheless very pleased with my purchase. I am as comfortable using the new iPad as I was my old one, which for an oldie is so reassuring.
PS: also replaced my wife's 10 year old iPad as well, she is equally pleased with the new one apart from the difficulty she has in using Touch ID, she preferred the button to access the iPad and finds her arthritic finger on her left hand (she is right handed) unable to effect access.
