July 3, 2024The best CPU i've ever owned. Incredible performance in gaming and workstation. 8 cores and 16 threads of pure power which will deliver a lot of fps at any game you put in front of it. Paired it up with an RTX 2070 FE and it reached 144 fps stable-ish on 90% of all the games (after a few tweaks, of course. graphics card is biiiit old!) and it still has room for EVEN MORE. Planning on buying an RTX 40 series in the future, that will make the perfect pair for this TOP cpu. Only problem is TDP, which i had to pair with an AIO cooling of 260W to get every bit of perfromance possible as cool as possible. idle temps at 37-39 celsius while 76 celsius max at 100% load. Wanna game? wanna use it for a work station??? this cpu eats those task FOR BREAKFAST and then some!

January 26, 2024I originally wanted to hold out for the 3D cache versions of these chips but honestly I don't regret just sticking with this. As far as gaming goes, it's a little better than the 5800x3D and maybe 15% worse in framerate than the 7800x3D, but really not much different for any other tasks. If gaming is your primary goal, get the 7800x3D. Despite only being 8 cores, this thing still rips through code compilation and other development tasks, as well as audio production. Pair this up with a set of RAM that can XMP up to or past 6ghz and your system will fly. Like many others, I chose to undervolt the CPU and managed to get a -25 PBO curve while limiting the wattage to about 110,000. That with my 360mm all in one cooler my system is pretty cool, quiet, and very fast.

September 16, 2024Performance:Performs as expected
Best Feature:Good price
Product Quality:I think this is a secondhand product because 1. they used a different box; 2. the Ryzen sticker was missing; 3. it's hard to see, but there seemed to be thermal paste residue on the CPU.
Nothing wrong with selling used products AS LONG AS IT'S CLEARLY STATED THAT THEY'RE USED. That was not the case here. As of writing, there seems to be no indication in the listing that the product is secondhand. Points docked for lack of transparency.

April 21, 2023The reviewers weren't lying about how fast or how hot it gets. Have a 240mm AIO and it boosts up to exactly 5.55Ghz on lightly threaded apps like gaming without breaking a sweat (around 70-75C) but all core it will go up to 95C draw a lot of power for AMD chip 98-138 watts from what i have seen but it doesnt throttle it just stops boosting higher. The all core runs about 5.25 so not bad at all. Amazing what a leap this was from a 3700X. The OS Experience is something you cant quantify you just click and it is already loaded and i didn't think the 3700X was slow although was bottlenecking some games. Got a 4080 and it bottlenecked them all. 7700X is a monster though I would have gone for 7800X3D if it was out. But this one is still great in similator games which I play a lot. Highly recommend for 400 let alone 350 now the ram and board costs are down.
