Very fast and graphics capable
Saifaldeen· Review provided by bhphotovideo.com · December 23, 2024
This CPU is amazing fast, with no heat issues. B&H offered great price, I loved the shipping speed with the packing box.

I use:
GB motherboard A620 with latest BIOS update
32GB DDR5 RAM 6400 Speed
NVMe Samsung 980 pro
CUP fan the one comes with CPU
BUT I put fast front and back 120mm 2800 speed 4 pins fans, on auto speed setting so keeping the heat low all the time and quite.
[Rewarded Review] Great, but make sure firmware is up to date

Make sure CPU microcode is up to date using AMD's Adrenaline software. There was an incompatibility with iLok software, which has since been fixed by AMD, iLok, and some motherboard manufacturers. My motherboard had a BIOS update to support the fix, so I'm set.

I built a rig not knowing this and spent almost an entire day unable to load the software that it was built for, Hauptwerk, a virtual pipe organ software.
[Rewarded Review] Good for casual gaming
David· Review provided by bhphotovideo.com · August 2, 2024
Works with casual games, like D3, but anything FPS intensive will cause it to respond sluggishly. I was able to play a few games but Starfield would not even allow it to load up. Also, I was able to play Enshrouded fine, even though I got the warning so it may function ok with moderately loading games so long as there is no soft lock on the hardware requirements. Also - If you plan on seriously playing on this chip, I would recommend overdoing your cooling solution.
Review of AMD Ryzen 7 8700G Processor

I wanted to update my desktop system but this time have a reduced size of computer case. Using this processor, which has built in graphics, meant that I could discard my existing large graphics card and go smaller. The processor was reasonably priced and I also upgraded my motherboard (AM5) and memory (DDR5) so overall it can be fairly expensive but worth it for a complete system improvement.
